About Us

The Guide Right Leadership Program was established in 1922 as a national service program of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. The Abington-Ambler Alumni Chapter’s Guide Right Program began in 2004 and has successfully helped to mentor many young men in their pursuits of college and career,  It was established to implement a meaningful and practical approach to the problem of youth underachievement. The program focuses on personal development, academic achievement, college and career preparation, and community service.  Guide Right encompasses many of the fraternity’s youth-oriented programs such as mentoring, college preparatory programs, and tutoring. However, the flagship initiative of the Guide Right Service Program is the Kappa Leadership Development League (Kappa League).

Program Overview

The Abington-Ambler Alumni Kappa Guide Right Program consists of three core programs.

Kappa League

National Guide Right

Guide Right School Outreach

The Krimson Foundation (the Abington-Ambler Alumni Chapter’s Charitable arm) operates a Kappa outreach program that focuses primarily on male minority youth across 6 targeted high schools and junior high schools in Eastern Montgomery County.

Khai’e Davies Abington-Ambler’s Student of the Year

Khai’e Davies Abington-Ambler’s Student of the Year

Khai’e Davies is a member of the Abington-Ambler Kappa League and a senior at Lankenau Environmental Magnet High School. He has a cumulative GPA of 4.04. Recently, Khai’e competed for our regional Guide Right Student of the Year. He distinguished himself by giving an impassioned recitation of the poem “Invictus.”  At one point in the recitation, Khai’e lost his place.  Instead of shutting down, he showed grace under fire and politely asked the audience if he could begin again.  He did and went on to give a riveting rendition of the poem that, ironically, now had added meaning to him.  As the poem states, indeed his “head was bloodied but unbowed” and in true form, he rose to the occasion as “the master of his fate and the captain of his soul”.  Khai’e was a finalist and came in third place overall.

AAA Kappa League attends Black History Month Event with Dr. Marc Lamont Hill

Recently, the Abington-Ambler (PA) Kappa League visited Widener University for a celebration of black history event. The keynote speaker of the event was none other than AAA’s own, renowned author, activist, and bookstore owner Dr. Marc Lamont Hill. Dr. Hill gave a soaring oratory about imagining change and being fearless in your imagination. He cited examples from Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X and the OAAU, as well as authors like Bell Hooks. The event was sponsored by Widener University and very well attended. Kappa Leaguers got an opportunity to meet and speak and take pictures with Dr. Hill after the event. Brother Keenan Washington was instrumental in the planning of this event in coordination with Dr. Hill and Widener University
